Welcome to La Boca Vista
This web site is an on-line, step by step documentary of the construction of an off-the-grid straw bale home from concept to completion and a source for information about the environment and green products. We will document the type and installation of the different environmentally friendly systems employed in the house such as solar power, wind power, rainwater collection, gray water, and passive solar design.
Elevation
  In 2007, some preliminary site work was completed. It included building an access road approximately 1/8th of mile long from Hwy 172 to the house site. Also, trenches for the footer were dug. It's the dead of winter right now, so the order of business now is to fine tune the plans for the house. Construction of the house is scheduled to start in the spring of 2009.
