In this part of La Plata County, water is a tough issue. The property is located over 6 miles from the nearest municiple water supply. Most people in this area hual water or have it delivered and stored in a below ground cistern. I plan on constructing a rain water collection system utilizing the surface area of the roof to collect water and route it to the cistern. It has been calculated that a 1 inch rainfall will yield around 900 gallons of water.
